Almonds combined with sugar crystals, fragrant lemon and the distinctive flavour of Maraschino liqueur form the basis of Rab cake, a unique dessert and souvenir of the island of Rab. The old grandmothers, who knew almost magically how to bring all the ingredients together, passed their knowledge down through generations. Their recipes are preserved as precious heritage, a tradition also carried on by Mrs Vilma in her House of Rab Cake, where she warmly welcomes visitors and offers other delicacies made from chocolate, figs, oranges and fragrant spices.
