The Brnić family, originally from Valun on the island of Cres, has been weaving baskets from willow for four generations. Today they make Cres baskets in the same way as almost a hundred years ago, by hand and from natural materials. The skilled hands of true weaving masters create traditional baskets in various sizes that can still be used to carry fruit and vegetables, just as in the past, or taken home as an original souvenir of the island of Cres. Even today, many residents of Cres use Brnić family baskets made more than half a century ago, proving the quality and durability of the natural materials used. The family traditionally takes care of the entire production process, from planting and growing young willow trees to the basket weaving itself, into which both skill and love are woven.
